OAU Notice on Mandatory Compliance Checks for the Matriculation Ceremony

The Matriculation Monitoring Unit of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has issued an official notice to all newly admitted students regarding significant changes to the upcoming Matriculation Ceremony.
According to an authorized communication released by the university, the ceremony will now include a mandatory compliance check due to logistical adjustments and crowd control concerns.
The notice outlines strict protocols all fresh students, commonly referred to as “freshers,” must adhere to:
- Proper Attire: Students must arrive wearing their matriculation gowns correctly.
- Early Arrival: All freshers are required to appear at the ceremony venue before 6:30 am.
- Seating Arrangement: Seating will be strictly according to faculty arrangements.
- Conduct: Students must avoid unnecessary movement and noise during the event.
The university warned that failure to comply with these directives may lead to a delay in the confirmation of a student’s matriculation.
