Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved the appointment of Prof. Shedrack Gaya Best as the 6th Substantive Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University, Bokkos.


The Executive Governor of Plateau State and Visitor to the Plateau State University, Bokkos, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has, on the recommendation of the Governing Council of the University, approved the appointment of Professor Shedrack Gaya Best as the 6th Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Plateau State University, Bokkos with effect from Thursday, 24th July, 2025.
The appointment is for a single tenure of Five (5) years.
Professor Shedrack Gaya Best is a renowned scholar and a professor of International Relations and Peace Building, with over 33 years of teaching and Research in the University.
Professor Best also served as Secretary to the Government of Plateau State between 2011 and 2015 and has been engaged in conflict resolution and peace building ventures at National and International levels.
Professor Best is married to Professor Kachollom Shedrack Best and they have four children.
