Tansian University’s management has received accreditation for its Nursing program from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

Tansian University has again demonstrated that it’s a home for quality education and academic excellence. This is made manifest by the recent Accreditation granted to her Department of Nursing Science by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). This development was made public today, May 14, 2024 by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, during the Pre-Convocation Press Conference at the University’s Podium to mark the ongoing 7th – 12th Combined Convocation Ceremony of Tansian University.
It will be recalled that NMCN visited the University few weeks ago for the purpose of professional accreditation of the Nursing science programme. Today, I am happy to inform you that the result came out very successful.
Achieving accreditation from the Nursing Council means that Tansian University’s nursing program meets the rigorous standards set by the council for curriculum, staff qualifications, facilities, and student outcomes. This accreditation demonstrates that the university’s nursing education meets or exceeds the requirements necessary to produce competent and skilled nurses that can work both within and outside the shores of Nigeria. It also signifies that the university is committed to continuous improvement and adheres to best practices in nursing education. This recognition enhances the reputation of both the university and its nursing graduates, increasing their employability and professional opportunities. In fact, it’s a testament to the quality and dedication of Tansian University’s nursing program.
Thanks to the commitment and dedication of the Vice Chancellor – Prof. Eugene Okoye Nwadialor and also the resilience and selfless service of the Head of Department, Dr. Henrietta Okedo and other members of staff too numerous to mention, for the positive result. Yes, the dream of the Late Founder, Very Rev. Msgr. Prof. J. B. Akam, has truly come to pass.
For sure, Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi (the Patron Saint of the University) is not sleeping. All glory to God for this wonderful feat.
