A first-class Nigerian graduate died in a fatal accident on his way to Abuja, his father died from the shock of the news, his mother later took her life, and all three were buried on the same day, leaving their community in deep mourning.

A Nigerian community has been thrown into deep mourning after a heartbreaking series of events led to the death of a brilliant first-class graduate and both his parents within a short period.
The young man, who had just completed his degree with top honours, was preparing for his NYSC and had already secured admission for a master’s programme in the United States through his uncle. While travelling to Abuja to finalize his documentation, he was involved in a fatal accident and died instantly.
The devastating news had an immediate impact on his family. His father reportedly collapsed and died upon hearing about the incident. Tragically, just weeks before their burial, the young man’s mother also passed away after taking poison.
All three family members were eventually buried on the same day, leaving friends, neighbours, and the wider community in shock and grief. The incident has also sparked conversations about grief, emotional support, and the importance of mental health awareness during times of sudden loss.
