The University of Ibadan has increased security and launched an investigation after a thief stole two mobile phones from Awo Hall, prompting a police inquiry.


The University of Ibadan (UI) has heightened security measures and launched an investigation following a robbery incident at Awo Hall in the early hours of Saturday.
According to the university’s spokesperson, Joke Akinpelu, the thief targeted only two rooms, stealing two mobile phones. The victims had briefly left their doors open while using the toilet or washing plates, allowing the thief to enter unnoticed.
Ms. Akinpelu added that the thief inquired about laptops but fled when an alarm was raised. The university has reported the incident to the police, who have begun an investigation.
