University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Hostel Accommodation Application Process for 2025/2026 Academic Session.


The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has officially released the schedule for the 2026 hostel accommodation process for both returning and new students. The announcement was made by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Ahmadu M. Brono, in a notice dated January 12, 2026.
The process for securing accommodation is as follows:
· PIN Availability: Student PINs, required for transactions, will be available for collection at the designated Microfinance Bank from Thursday, January 15, 2026.
According to the notice, the university hostels will be opened for student occupation starting Monday, January 26, 2026
Booking & Payment Period: The official window for booking hostel rooms and making payments will run from January 26, 2026, to February 9, 2026.
The university administration has issued a strict warning regarding the payment deadline. Any hostel booking for which full payment is not completed by the end of the day on February 9, 2026, will be automatically revoked.
Students are advised to take note of the dates and complete the necessary steps promptly to secure their accommodation for the academic period.

Please note that failure to pay the fees by the extended deadline will result in the revocation of bed space bookings.

UNIMAID Hostel Accommodation Application Process
All those who have successfully accessed the Online Booking Apps (UMSTAD) and booked their bed space are expected to immediately pay the appropriate fees in order to claim their bed space.

PROCEDURE FOR THE PAYMENT OF HOSTEL MAINTENANCE FEES
- First, Login to Remita.net
- Select pay TSA and State
- Next select Federal Government of Nigeria
- Pay a biller (will be displayed in Red Box)
- Who do you want to pay? Write University of Maiduguri in full in the box provided
- Name of Service Purpose. Select Hostel Maintenance Fees from the options provided
- Description Write Payment of Hostel Maintenance Fees 2025/2026 and your ID Number in the box
- S. GIMIS CODE Type in figure 0 (zero, not letter o) in the box provided
- Amount to be paid. Write the appropriate fees amount for your booked hall only (see above)
- Payer’s Name The name of the student making the payment or for whom payment is made
- Phone Number The phone number of the student making the payment or for whom payment is made
- E-mail VALID e-mail of the student making the payment or for whom payment is made 13. Confirm E-mail as in the above, enter the e-mail once again in the second box
- CLICK SUBMIT button at the bottom After submission, it will take you to the next page with two (2) payment options
- Option I for using Card to make your payment or
- Option 2 Bank Branch If you select bank: print and take it to any bank for payment
- Print a copy of the payment. RRR from your e-mail
- Report to the Student Affairs Office for the Verification of your RRR
- After verification, collect your Hostel Permit and report to your Hall.
PROCEDURE FOR SECURING YOUR ONLINE BOOKED BEDSPACE
- Only registered students will be eligible for the 2025/2026 Accommodation.
- Booking of bed space will be done strictly online using the UMSTAD App
- All bookings are to be done after obtaining PIN number (Procedure/Date for obtaining PTV number will be announced soon)
- All bookings MUST be done within a specified period of time.
- Booking and allocation of bed space will be on FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis.
- All bed space booking and room allocation are to be done STRICTLY by the Division using the E-Accommodation platform-UMSTAD App.
- No 6 above applies to ALL HOSTELS in the University (except PG Hostels)
- No individual has been mandated to book, reserve or collect accommodation fees on behave of the University.
- All monies for accommodation are to paid through officially sanctioned means
- Anyone who pays money to any individual(s) does so at his/her own risk, SO BE WARNED
