The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has scored another milestone with the gaining of full accreditation for 16 academic programmes.
This is just as two courses, anatomy and computer science, domiciled in the Faculty of Basic Medical Science and Computer Science, respectively, have gained interim accreditation status.
The report of the full and interim accreditation statuses was made known through a letter, signed by Abraham Chundusu, the Ag. Director of Accreditation, at the National Universities Commission (NUC), and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman.

It would be recalled that, in October and November 2023, the National Universities Commission conducted the accreditation exercise for some of the programmes offered in the University.
The programmes that gained full accreditation status after the successful completion of the accreditation exercise included agriculture, fishery and aquaculture, forestry and wildlife management, medical laboratory science and physiology.
Also included are English and literary studies, French, theatre and media arts, business education, biochemistry, geology, mathematics, physics, zoology and social works.
According to the letter from the NUC, full accreditation status for undergraduate programmes are valid for a period of five (5) years.
