University of Cross River State (Formerly CRUTECH) appoints HODs for newly approved courses


The Management of University of Cross River State has appointed Heads of Departments for newly approved programmes in the University. Professor Austin Angba, Vice Chancellor of the University, announced names of the newly appointed Heads of Departments during the University’s Enlarged Management meeting held yesterday.
Some of the newly appointed Heads of Department are Dr. Cassius Ogar, Acting Head of Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Dr. Anthony Odu Oru, Acting Head of Department of Banking and Finance, Dr. Francis Anoka, Acting Head of Department of Economics, Dr. Ofut Ogar, Acting Head of Department of Software Engineering, Dr. Julius Obidinnu, Acting Head of Department of Information System, Dr. Sunday Ebaye, Acting Head of Department of Peace Studies, Dr. Eteng Eloma, Acting Head of Department of Sociology and Dr. Tabe Ntui, Acting Head of Department of Industrial Chemistry. Similarly, Dr. Michael Ayang-Nzan has been appointed as Acting Head of Department of Broadcasting while Mr. Cornelius Ellah has been appointed as Acting Head of Department of Journalism Studies.
Before his recent appointment, Mr. Ellah was Acting Head of Department of Mass Communication. Dr. John Ukam has been appointed to replace him in that office. All the newly appointed Heads of Departments are expected to assume duties immediately.
Their appointments will terminate at the end of September 2025. It will be recalled that the National Universities Commission (NUC) recently gave approval to the University to commence academic activities in seventeen new programmes.
The University is currently admitting students into all the new programmes. We heartily congratulate all the newly appointed Heads of Departments and wish them success in the discharge of their duties.
