The House of Representatives has called on universities and other tertiary institutions to adopt a new school fee payment system to enable students to cope with the current economic situation in the country.

In a recent development, the House of Representatives has asked universities and other higher education institutions to think about using a semester-based system for school fee payments.
This decision comes as a response to the tough economic situations that students are currently facing.
The decision was made in a Plenary session on Thursday, following a suggestion by Representative Sa’ad Wada Taura. He pointed out the importance of exploring different ways to pay fees that could help students financially.
The idea is that shifting to a semester-based payment system could have several advantages. It might make it easier for students financially, make it simpler for more people to go to college, and make the financial structures of these institutions clearer.
If this suggestion is put into action, it could have a positive effect on students dealing with the challenges of higher education in Nigeria’s tough economic times. This move will surely make Nigerian students’ lives easier.
