Ibadan School Proprietor Vanishes After Collecting WAEC and NECO Fees from Students, Moves Overseas

Students of a secondary school in Ibadan faces delay in their education after their school proprietor duped them and moved abroad with their examination fees.

Students at a secondary school in Ibadan might face a year’s delay in entering tertiary education after their school proprietor duped them.

The proprietor relocated abroad after taking fees for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and National Examinations Council (NECO) exams from the students.

Adejoke Lasisi, founder of Planet 3R and a nearby resident, provided further details on this unfortunate situation.

Lasisi revealed on Facebook that the unidentified school proprietor fled the country after collecting WAEC and NECO fees from the students.

Some parents had even borrowed money to pay the fees, only to learn that their children were not registered for the exams.

Lasisi noted that the proprietor sold his house and all his possessions to fund his move abroad, thereby damaging the students’ futures.

Her Facebook post included:

“Some people don’t fear God at all oooooo. Imagine collecting WAEC/NECO money from all of your students and using it to JAPA.

“An incident happened in my area recently… there’s this man who owns a school… the school has been in existence for a while now at Amuro, Egbeda LG Ibadan.

“The owner collected money for WAEC and NECO, some parents even borrowed it, only to find out he didn’t register the students for the exam.

“I heard he sold his house, school, and all properties in order to travel abroad. He just ruined those students’ lives for his selfish gain, some might not be able to pay for another exam next year…”
