A total of four hundred and ninety-five (495) students were formally matriculated for the 2023/2024 Session of the University of Lagos Sandwich Programme.


The ceremony which was held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Faculty of Education Auditorium, saw the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, applauding the matriculating students for their preference for education, and resoluteness despite the prevalent economic situation.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics and Research), Professor Bola Oboh, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the sandwich programme students for accepting to pay the price to acquire knowledge. She charged them to inspire and be role models younger students, by encouraging them to seek and embrace knowledge irrespective of the situation.
In separate remarks, the Director, Institute of Continuing Education, Professor Abigael Ogwezzy and the Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Professor Simeon Oladipo congratulated the matriculants and charged them to commit to rigorous studies. The new students were also advised to apply themselves to the various programmes and initiatives of the University, with a view to emerging well rounded and fit for purpose on completion of their studies.
Highpoint of the brief ceremony was the administration of the Matriculation oath on the students by the acting Registrar of the University, Mrs. Olakunle Makinde.
The 495 matriculants were admitted into the Departments of Adult Education, Arts Education, Educational Foundations, Educational Management, Human Kinetics and Health Education, Science Education, Social Sciences Education and Technology & Vocational Education.
