The Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies – Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (LASUSBAS JUPEB) has Successfully Conducts Entrance Examination For JUPEB Programme For The 2024/2025 Session

The quest for direct entry admission into the Lagos State University through the A’Level route took hundreds of parents and guardians, and their wards to Topo town in the ancient city of Badagry on Saturday, 14th September 2024 for the entrance examination into the Lagos State University School of Basic and Advanced Studies – Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (LASUSBAS JUPEB) programme.

As early as 8a.m., the admission seekers, with their parents in tow, had started thronging the sleepy town eager for a spot in the highly competitive one-year programme that when aced, would ensure a student gain admission into 200Level of their programme of choice at Nigeria’s best State University – LASU.

Staff of the programme, led by the Director, Prof. Yunus Adeleke Dauda, the Deputy Director, Dr . Ronke Saibu, and the Assistant Director, Dr . Waheed Akingbade, were on ground to receive the prospective students, dishing out instructions and checking them into their respective exam halls before the exercise commenced at exactly 11a.m.

About one hour thirty minutes later, the candidates, divided into three major disciplines – Arts, Management Sciences (Commercial) and Science – were done with the multiple choice examination, after which they were addressed by the programme officials.

However, an important meeting with their parents was to come first. During the School-Parent meeting, the Director, Prof. Dauda congratulated the parents for the opportunity afforded their wards to gain admission into the LASUSUBAS Jupeb programme, which he boasted is one of the best in the country. He spoke about the competitiveness of the one year programme and the hard work required for a student to pass and get admission into the university, urging the parents not to abandon their wards to the School.

He, however, assured the parents that judging by the quality and quantity of staff in the School and the record of the excellent performance of its students in previous Jupeb examinations, their children are in safe hands. He appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello for providing the enabling environment to give the students the very best quality of training.

The Deputy and the Assistant Directors, as well as heads of various centres in the School also had the opportunity to reel out guidelines that would assist the parents settle their children well into the system, when they are eventually admitted.

Some of the parents, in their feedback, appreciated the School for the facilities put in place to make the program worthwhile.

The new session will commence later this month (September) with results of the entrance examination expected to be out within a week, according to the School.
