FULafia V-C Appreciates PTDF for Building a State-of-the-art Facility for Physics Dept

The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) for building a state-of-the-art facility for the Department of Physics.

The ultra-modern facility, currently under construction, will house some cutting-edge equipment and furnishings, revolutionise teaching, research and learning experiences for students and faculty.

Abdul Rahman, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Professor Samaila Dakyes, at a tripartite meeting with the PTDF and project consultants, praised PTDF’s dedication to promoting education and human capital development in Nigeria.

He said: “This generous intervention significantly enhances our capacity to produce high-quality graduates equipped with skills and knowledge driving Nigeria’s technological advancement.”

The vice-chancellor reaffirmed the University’s commitment to ensuring timely project completion by supporting contractors.

The PTDF team emphasised its dedication to supporting Nigeria’s tertiary institutions, highlighting strategic partnerships’ role in national development.

The donation strengthens the existing partnership between Federal University of Lafia and PTDF, paving the way for future research, capacity building and talent development collaborations.

Attendees at the meeting included the Director of Academic Planning, Professor Ilemona Adofu, Head of Physics Department, Dr. Johnson Bamikole, and former head of the department, Professor Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, and some staff from the Physical Planning Unit and Department of Physics.
