Over 700 Sokoto State students have accused Special Adviser Abubakar Muhammad Salame of withholding allocated tuition funds, leaving 774 students unpaid and urging Governor Ahmed Aliyu to intervene.
Over 700 students from Sokoto State are expressing frustration, alleging that Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Salame, the Special Adviser on Student Affairs, has failed to release their allocated tuition funds despite Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s approval of payments for 5,994 students at Usmanu Danfodiyo University.
During a press conference at the NUJ Center, student representative Usman Yahuza reported that only 5,290 students had received funds, leaving 774 students unpaid despite the state’s allocation of N5.56 billion for tuition under Salame’s supervision.
Yahuza further alleged that Salame has avoided contact with students and may have diverted funds, calling on Governor Aliyu to intervene as some students face study delays or must work to afford their education.
