The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has issued a stern advisory to Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) regarding their passport photographs.

In a statement released today, the NYSC emphasized the importance of maintaining decorum and clarity in the photographs used for official documentation. “PCMs are strongly advised to avoid indecent dressing while capturing their passport photographs and ensure the pictures are very clear,” the advisory read.
The directive further clarified that any photographs found to be blurred must be retaken. “Blurred pictures should be recaptured by Cyber Cafe Operators,” the statement added, highlighting the responsibility of the operators to ensure that each photograph meets the required standards.
This advisory comes in response to the increasing number of issues related to passport photo quality and appropriateness, which have caused delays in the registration process. The NYSC has noted that clear and appropriately dressed images are not only a requirement but also reflect the professionalism expected from corps members.
The NYSC has urged all PCMs to adhere to these guidelines to facilitate a smoother registration and orientation process. Cyber cafe operators are also encouraged to assist in this regard by ensuring their equipment is up to the task of capturing high-quality images.
The NYSC orientation camp is set to commence in the coming weeks across various states, where thousands of graduates will be inducted into the one-year mandatory national service program.
