JUST IN: Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Closed Indefinitely Amid Students’ Protests

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) has been indefinitely closed starting January 13, 2025, due to student protests over result verification, tuition hikes, and delays in NYSC mobilization, with management citing safety concerns.

The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has announced the indefinite closure of the institution starting Monday, January 13, 2025, citing safety concerns due to ongoing student protests.

The protests were sparked by grievances over the administration’s verification of National Diploma (ND) results from previous institutions, an alleged hike in tuition fees, and delays in the mobilization of Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

In a statement issued by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Yemi Ajibola, the management reiterated its zero tolerance for fake results and advised students to stay off campus for their safety.

The statement reads:

“Management expressed its zero tolerance to fake results from any quarters.

Consequent upon this, students have been advised to stay away from the campus in their interests, as parents and the general public are assured of a timely update as events unfold.”

The institution emphasized its commitment to resolving the issues while ensuring the safety of lives and property.
