Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) has been temporarily closed for a one-week mid-semester break following a student protest over the alleged killing of a student by the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).
The management of Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State has announced a one-week mid-semester break, effective February 24, following a violent student protest.
The protest erupted on Sunday after students alleged that a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) had fatally shot one of their colleagues, accusing him of being an informant. The unrest continued into Monday morning, prompting the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Armaya’u Bichi, to announce the temporary closure.
In a statement issued in Katsina on Monday, Bichi confirmed that the University Senate had made the decision, advising students to vacate the campus before 6:00 p.m. on February 24.

“The Management wishes the students a happy and peaceful mid-semester break,” he stated.
