Southern Delta University Maiden Convocation Ceremony 2024/2025

Southern Delta University formerly (University of Delta State Agbor) Maiden Convocation Ceremony 2024/2025 academic session.

Southern Delta University (formerly Delta State University of Science and Technology), Ozoro, has announced the schedule of activities for its maiden convocation ceremony for the 2024/2025 academic session.

According to an official bulletin released on Monday, February 9, 2026 (S.E. Vol. 1, No. 208), the week-long convocation activities will commence on Sunday, February 22, 2026, and end on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

This is to formally inform the University Community that the Management has made a readjustment of the programme of activities for the upcoming Convocation ceremony.

The Convocation, Awards of Prize and Commissioning of Projects which was earlier scheduled to hold on Friday, 27th February 2026 will now take place on Saturday, 28th February 2026.

This change has been made to ensure better coordination and enhance overall participation of the University Visitor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon (Elder) Sheriff, F. O. Oborevwori, JP.

All other arrangements and details regarding the Ceremony remain unchanged. A revised programme reflecting the new date is shown below:

  Monday 23rd February, 2026
  Novelty Match at the SDU Stadium
  4:00pm – 5:30pm

  Tuesday 24th February, 2026
  Vice-Chancellor’s Press Conference
  11:00am – 1:00pm
• Day 4
  Wednesday 25th February, 2026
  Convocation Lecture
  11:00am – 2:00pm
• Day 5
  Thursday 26th February, 2026
  Science, Technology and Innovation Exhibition
  11:00am – 1:00pm
• Day 6
  Saturday 28th February, 2026
  Convocation, Awards of Prizes, and Commissioning of Projects
  9:00am – 1:00pm
• Day 7
  Sunday 1st March, 2026
  Thanksgiving Service at Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Diocese of Ozoro, Ozoro
