ATBU Academic Calendars 2026 Announced [UPDATED]

The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 Session is Out.

ATBU Academic Calendar for Undergraduates

The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University has approved a new academic calendar for 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Below is the new calendar signed and released by the Registrar of the University, Haj Hadeeza Mailafia.

I am directed to convey that, Senate at its Second Semester Senate Examination Meeting held on Monday the 17th November, 2025 has approved the 2025/2026 Academic Calendar as follows:

• Mon 15th Dec 25 – Mon 5th Jan 26: Online Registration (100L-500L) Duration 3wks, Iday
• Thu 25th Dec 25 & Fri 26th Dec: Christmas & Boxing Day Holiday 2 days
• Thu 1st Jan 26: New Year Holiday
• Mon 5th Jan 26: Students Resumption (200L- 500L) Returning
  Physical Registration I (200L- 500L) Returning Mon 5th Jan 26-Fri 16th Jan 26 Iweek, 6 days
• Tues 6th Jan 26: Lectures Commences for Returning Students (200L-500L)
• Tue 6th Jan’26 – Tue 3rd Feb 26: ***1st Semester Deferment Window Opens (Unless on Medical grounds) 4wks
• Mon 12th Jan 26: Freshers Resumption (100L and 200L)
• Mon 12th Jan – Fri 16th Jan ’26: Physical Registration II (Freshers 100L and 200L) 5 days
• Tues 13th Jan 26: Lectures Commences for Freshers (100L and 200L)
