16-year-old Nigerian Girl emerges one of the 100 Global Winners in the $1billion Rise Initiative

Nigerian teenage girl Tomisin Ogunnubi has become one of the champions of the global technology competition.

The 16-year-old programming star defeated 49,900 other technology geniuses from 170 countries and became one of the 100 global winners of the $1 billion Rise Initiative.

Tomisin will receive lifelong benefits, including scholarships, mentorship, career development opportunities and funding.

In 2016, she created “My Locator”, a genius application that helps lost children find their way home, and later attracted the attention of technology companies.

My locator uses Google Maps to track the user’s movement from one location to another.

Users can add numbers to receive their location in an emergency.

This teenager learned how to code at the age of 12 and wanted to create something useful.

As a computer science student at Imperial College London, Tomisin has developed skills in web and mobile development, and has used multiple languages ​​and frameworks, such as Javascript, Java, and Python.
