A Nigerian man has cried out on social media after his University failed to give him the N196k he was promised for emerging the best law Student in 2018.

According to a report by Legit.ng, in a now-deleted tweet, the Nigerian man said though the prices are ridiculously small, the school is still yet to fulfill its promises.
The report revealed that there were a total of 5 awards attached to the name “Destiny Osayi Ogbegbe”. A simple calculation of the monetary values shows that he was supposed to have taken home a total of N196,000. However, he said he has not received a dime.
See his tweet below: “Just got a list of the prize monies I won as best graduating law student from the university in 2018. Till today, these people have not given me this money. Let’s not even talk about how ridiculous the prize monies are. Lmao.”
Reacting to his sad story, aA Twitter user wrote: “It really hurts sometimes. I am supposed to receive same from my university and faculty. Since 2019 nothing has been done about it. Academic excellence is hardly rewarded in this country.”
Replying, another Twitter user wrote: “This is a norm in Nigerian varsities. Graduated top of my class in 2017 with a first-class degree in economics, the governor promised us some cash reward, couple with the prize reward of the institution. It’s now 4 years and counting”
