Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) marked its 7th matriculation ceremony on March 1, 2025, a significant milestone in the institution’s growth.


The event, held at the Vice Admiral Dele J.Ezeoba Multi-Purpose Hall Multi-Purpose Hall, welcomed 613 new students from the Faculties of Science, Arts, Management and Social Sciences, Law, and Engineering Technology and Maritime Studies.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries including Miss Nwani Alero, Director of Higher Education in Delta State (representing the Commissioner of Higher Education), Professor Nyerhovwu Tonukar, royal fathers from immediate host communities, security personnel, academics from within and sister institutions, students, and parents.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dili Emmanuel Ofuokwu, extended a warm welcome to the matriculants, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the university’s rules and regulations as outlined in the student handbook. He stressed that non-compliance could result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion. Professor Ofuokwu also assured students that the completion of the new hostel, addressing accommodation concerns, was imminent.
The matriculation lecture, delivered by Engineer Professor Vincent Balogun, Dean of Postgraduate, Engineering, and Maritime Studies, was titled “Embarking on a Journey of Excellence: Navigating Academic Success and Responsible Citizenship in a Nigerian University.” Professor Balogun highlighted key factors for academic success, including effective time management, focused dedication, and a commitment to academic goals.
Following a procession led by the Vice-Chancellor, the matriculants were formally administered the matriculation oath, signifying their official admission as bona fide members of the ADUN community. The ceremony concluded with joyful celebrations by the new students, their families, and friends, marking the commencement of their academic journey at ADUN.
This 7th matriculation ceremony underscores Admiralty University of Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and the cultivation of responsible citizenship, reflecting the institution’s steady growth and development.
