Ikot Osurua, Ikot Ekpene Notice on Safety Of Staff & Students During the Proposed Nationwide Protest.

I am directed to inform all staff, students and the Polytechnic Community that the Honourable Minister of Education through the Executive Secretary, National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has drawn the attention of all Rectors/Provosts of Nigerian Polytechnics/Monotechnics to the plan by the unknown groups to embark on nationwide protest.
The Federal Government is concerned about the safety of staff, students and Polytechnic properties and has therefore called for proactive action should there be any protest.
Consequently, the Management of the Institution has directed that all staff, students and the Polytechnic Community should remain calm as appropriate actions have been taken in order to ensure their safety within the campus of the Polytechnic.
Students who reside on campus are advised to also remain on campus and focus on their academic activities so as to avoid exposure to potential danger during the period of the proposed protest.
Accordingly, all staff, students and members of the Polytechnic Community are to note and comply with the above directive.
Please give this circular the widest publicity it deserves.
