Keren Deti, a young woman from Africa, has been awarded the highly competitive President’s International Scholarship of Excellence, valued at $180,000, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at York University in Canada.
This distinguished scholarship, one of York University’s largest for international students, celebrates Keren’s outstanding academic accomplishments and dedication to community development.
Awarded to only 20 international students each year, the scholarship recognizes academic excellence and requires recipients to maintain high academic standards throughout their studies.
In addition to the President’s scholarship, Keren received a $9,500 entrance scholarship from York University, further acknowledging her academic success.
Keren described this award as “life-changing,” helping her move closer to her goal of becoming a medical doctor focused on improving stroke disorder care and expanding educational access for underserved communities.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Keren thanked her family and community for their unwavering support, which she credits as a key factor in her success.
