British Canadian University Appoints Prof. Waheed as Vice-Chancellor.

The Board of the British Canadian University (BCU), Obudu, Cross River State, has appointed Prof. Adekojo Waheed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution for a five-year term.

Prof. Waheed, a distinguished scholar and administrator, is a Professor of Thermofluids and Fluid Mechanics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where he previously served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).

An accomplished academic, Prof. Waheed earned his Doctor of Engineering Science (Dr. Eng. Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from Aachen University of Technology (RWTH), Aachen, Germany. He also holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Ilorin, where he graduated with Second Class Honours (Upper Division).

Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Waheed has received several notable awards and recognitions, including the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship at the University of Bath, United Kingdom, and a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship for his Doctoral studies in Germany. He was also honoured as the Best Graduating Student and University Scholar in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ilorin.

In his congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, described the appointment as well-deserved and a testament to Prof. Waheed’s outstanding academic pedigree, administrative competence, and commitment to excellence. He expressed confidence that Prof. Waheed would bring visionary leadership and global best practices to bear in advancing the goals of the British Canadian University.

A consummate professional, Prof. Waheed is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineering (FNSE), and a Fellow Institution of Mechanical Engineering (FNIMECHE), including a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
