There is celebration and jubilation at the Modibbo Adama University, as the witness their Convocation Ceremony with over 53 first class graduates.


The atmosphere was filled with jubilation as Modibbo Adama University witnessed a momentous occasion during its 28th convocation ceremony.
On Saturday, May 4, a total of 53 students were conferred with first-class honors, marking an exceptional milestone in their academic journey.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Abdullahi Tukur, shared the exhilarating news with reporters in Yola, emphasizing the significance of this remarkable achievement.
Out of the 5,545 graduates in the 2022/2023 academic session, 53 distinguished individuals earned the prestigious first-class honors.
The convocation ceremony also included the participation of candidates from the previous session, adding to the grandeur of the event.
During the ceremony, Prof. Abdullahi Tukur revealed the breakdown of the degrees conferred.
Among the graduates were 458 diploma recipients and 4,282 undergraduate students. Alongside the 53 first-class graduates, 1,143 achieved second-class (upper division), 2,376 secured second-class (lower division), while 682 attained third-class honors. Additionally, 28 students were awarded pass degrees. Prof. Tukur also announced the awarding of 41 Postgraduate Diplomas, 630 Master’s Degrees, and 134 Ph.Ds. across various disciplines.
Addressing the graduating class, Prof. Tukur assured them of the prompt availability of their certificates, maintaining the institution’s tradition of efficiency in academic administration.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state extended his congratulations to the graduating students, commending their dedication and hard work. He encouraged them to persevere in their pursuit of excellence.
Responding to the achievement, a user on social media platform X, @twon_brass, expressed admiration, drawing a comparison with academic standards in the UK.
