Court Sends University Student to Prison For Trying to Write JAMB Exam for Someone

A Federal High Court has sentenced a student for trying to write a JAMB Exam for another candidate.

In a swift turn of events, a Federal High Court in Akure has rendered its verdict in a case involving an undergraduate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba.

Adesuyi Feranmi, the defendant, has been found guilty of impersonation and examination malpractice during the 2023 UTME.

Presiding over the case, Hon. Justice T. Adegoke delivered the judgment on Monday, the 5th of March, 2024.

The court’s decision comes barely a month after another significant conviction in Abuja, where a CBT owner was found guilty of examination misconduct.

This underscores the gravity with which the Nigerian legal system is addressing issues related to academic integrity.

In light of these developments, it is imperative for all candidates preparing for the 2024 UTME to take heed.
