Prof. Fasakin outlined the Council’s vision to transform the Polytechnic into a hub for agricultural produce and emphasized the need to increase the Institution’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). He also stressed the necessity for additional funding, given the Polytechnic’s status as a new institution, and revealed plans to introduce Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes.

In her response, the Commissioner expressed the ministry’s readiness for pragmatic collaboration as a stakeholder in the educational sector. She encouraged the Polytechnic to remain aligned with the vision of its founding fathers and urged the institution to visit technical colleges to sensitize students for increased enrollment.

Dr. Aderiye also advised involving the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, and Investment in the collaboration to facilitate trainings and certification of artisans in the state by the Polytechnic.

This strategic move aims to elevate the Polytechnic’s standing and ensure it meets the educational needs of its growing student population while contributing significantly to the state’s economic development.
