A total of one hundred and forty-seven (147) indigent students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), on Friday, November 21, 2025, received scholarship awards from Emmanuel’s Table.

The scholarship award programme which began eight years ago with just four female students has blossomed into a beacon of opportunity, now supporting over 100 young scholars. This year’s cohort includes 47 continuing beneficiaries from the 2024/2025 session and 100 fresh recipients, all carefully identified by the University’s Counselling Unit and screened by the Emmanuel’s Table team.
The scholarship award covers the consolidated obligatory fees of the 2025/2026 academic session, as well as some stipend for living expenses. However, the awards by Emmanuel’s Table goes beyond financial aid – it’s about empowerment. Beneficiaries were reminded by the Board Chair, Mrs. Oluwatobi Boshoro that maintaining at least a 2.1 CGPA was key to sustaining their support throughout their academic journey at the University of Lagos.
In addition to the funding, students were introduced to the possibilities of internship as well as Graduate Management Trainee programme opportunities at the Stanbic IBTC group, thus opening doors to professional growth even before graduation.
Head of the Counselling Unit, Mrs. Janet Aregbesola, who spoke on behalf of the Dean of Student Affairs (DSA), appreciated the donor-agency for their efforts and consistency over the years.
