FUDutse Set to Launch AI, Machine Learning, Data Science and Health Sciences Programs.
The new Vice Chancellor Federal University Dutse (FUD), Prof. Ahmad Muhammed Gumel has revealed his plans to mount degree programs in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science & Analytics, Networking and Cloud Computing among others.
The VC who stated this during an interactive session with staff of the University said in order to achieve academic excellence in the 21st Century there is a need to revise and modernize curricula to meet National Universities Commission (NUC) benchmarks and global digital transformation in pedagogy, adding that part of his plan in this regard is to introduce new and on-demand programs like Al & Machine Learning, Data Science & Analytics, Networking and Cloud Computing, Project Management, Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain, Geology, Climate-Smart Agriculture, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Community Health, Science Education and Business Education among others.
The VC, FUD, Prof. Ahmad Muhammed Gumel said his vision 2030 for the University is to make it a nationally and globally competitive with market driven and cutting edge academic programs that will make its graduate employable and employers of labour, adding that academic staff will need to brace up and embrace the new wave of change in terms academic programs and other far reaching reforms his administration intend to pursue in the next five years.
He said FUD has the manpower and the political will to do things that will position the University in the global scheme of things, adding that with competitive academic programs, cutting edge research and productive global partnerships, FUD can strengthen its place among universities that are ranked in the big league..
