The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja in Affiliation with Federal University Lokoja Top-Up Degree and HND Conversion Programme provides a platform where opportunities are made available for applicants to acquire quality university education.
It addresses the dichotomy between BSc and HND certificate holders. It enables university graduates who are unable to stand out academically during their first degree to remedy their results. Also, it allows HND holders to upgrade their certificates to University Degrees.

Objectives of the Programme
The objectives of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja in Affiliation with Federal University Lokoja Top-Up Degree and HND Conversion Programme are to:
- Provide suitable academic programmes that would facilitate conversion from HND to University Degree Certification
- Make available contents and instructions that would upgrade the quality of University Degrees from Third Class
- Facilitate University education that would lead to change of Degree/Career where necessary
- Create an academic-level ground for University Degrees acquisition

Admission Requirement
Candidates must satisfy the following admission requirements:
- Applicants must possess a minimum of five O’level subjects at credit level in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings.
- Minimum of Third Class Degree or HND (Lower Credit Division) from a recognized institution is required for the candidate’s programme.
- Applicants must possess Certificate of Discharge or Exemption from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme.
Duration of Programme
- Two years of (4 Semesters for Full time)
- Two years of (6 Semesters for Part time)
Lecture / Contact Period
Lectures shall take place from:
- Monday – Friday (Full time)
- Fridays and Saturdays (Part time)

- Qualified candidates willing to apply for the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja in Affiliation with Federal University Lokoja Top-Up Degree and HND Conversion Programme are to make non-refundable payment of ₦20,000 only for the Application Form.
Closing Date: Sales and Submission of Application Forms will commence Wednesday, 27th August to 24th September 2025 (Four Weeks).
