A Nigerian woman reported a corps member to NYSC after he made inappropriate comments about SS3 girls being his “spec,” sparking widespread outrage and debate on social media.

A Nigerian woman has reported a youth corps member to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after he allegedly stated that SS3 girls are his “spec,” raising alarms about the safety of students around him.
The situation unfolded on X (formerly Twitter), where the lady called on NYSC authorities to take action against the corps member, sharing a video of him making hand gestures she described as suggestive and inappropriate.
In her words, “NYSC, you people will not see this person to call and threaten.” She urged the public to identify the school where he teaches, insisting that children were not safe under his supervision.
In response to the backlash, the corps member released another video trying to defend and explain the meaning behind his gestures. However, the woman rejected his defense, accusing him of attempting to manipulate the narrative and mislead the public.
The controversy quickly gained traction, sparking intense reactions across social media. While some users defended the woman’s concerns about student safety, others criticized her, claiming SS3 students are mature enough and suggesting she was overreacting.
Here are a few reactions from users:
• @LagosSenior: “Ladies are so pained when it comes to this lol. She should focus on finding a good man or menopause will be her next battle. Peace.”
• @thealexisJnr: “SS3 students are basically adults. They’re preparing for university, they know what’s good and bad.”
• @Ynw_szn: “She said ‘PDF file,’ English almost broke her mouth.”
• @OlajideTimiley9: “The guy was wrong, but people should also address female corps members who harass male students. It happens too.”
• @RuddyJahrel: “Anyone defending the guy is a ped0. Those girls are still kids, puberty or not. Sick behavior.”
• @MhizC46366: “People underestimate what young kids go through at the hands of so-called responsible adults. It’s sad.”
The NYSC has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
