After writing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board exam 19 times over many years, Onyeanula Igbokwe Onyenaturuchi finally gained admission to study Law at Abia State University and persevered through personal tragedies to become a final-year student.

A Nigerian man, Onyeanula Igbokwe Onyenaturuchi, has inspired many with his remarkable determination to study Law despite years of setbacks. According to a post shared by Ben Udechukwu, he sat for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination 19 times between 1999 and 2021, refusing to give up on his dream.
Although he received several admission offers to study other courses over the years, he rejected them all, staying focused on Law. His persistence finally paid off in 2021 when he secured admission into Abia State University to study his desired course.
However, just six months after gaining admission, tragedy struck when he lost one of his eyes in a motor accident. Not long after, he also lost his mother, who had been his biggest supporter throughout his journey.
Despite these painful experiences, he remained strong and continued his education. Today, he is a final-year Law student, and his story is widely seen as a powerful example of resilience, determination, and unwavering passion.
His journey has also sparked conversations online, with many people praising his refusal to settle for less and his courage to keep going despite repeated failures. Some have described him as a symbol of hope for young Nigerians facing academic or life challenges.
Beyond inspiration, his story highlights the importance of persistence and staying true to one’s goals, even when the path is long and difficult. It serves as a reminder that success may take time, but consistency and belief can eventually turn dreams into reality.
