Prof Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza of the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management, Faculty of Agriculture has been appointed as the new Dean of the Students’ Affairs Division.


He has succeeded Professor Shamsuddeen Umar, who was appointed since 2018.
A distinguished scholar and administrator, Prof. Bunza has previously served as Head of Department and Sub-Dean (Facilities) where he earned recognition for his leadership, dedication and commitment to academic excellence. He was promoted to the rank of Professor of Forest Ecology and Silviculture during the 416th Senate Meeting held in August 2024.
Prof. Bunza’s appointment is widely seen as a strategic decision aimed at strengthening student development, promoting moral discipline and fostering academic excellence across the university community.
Prof Bunza has over 50 publications.
