The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has officially approved 18 new programmes and fully re-accredited 42 existing programmes at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State.

According to an official letter dated February 20, 2026, and signed by Dr. Mrs. Fatima Kabir Umar, Director, Polytechnic and Allied Programmes Department, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the approvals will take effect from the 2025/2026 academic session.

Among the 18 newly approved programmes are ND and HND courses across key disciplines, including HND Computer Engineering Technology, ND Renewable Energy Technology, ND Law, ND Library & Information Science, HND Film & Multimedia Production, and Journalism & Media Studies.

The Board also confirmed full re-accreditation of 42 programmes for five years. These include ND and HND Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mass Communication, Accountancy, and Science Laboratory Technology.

NBTE emphasized that admissions must strictly follow the approved class streams, which range between 80 and 100 students per stream. The accredited programmes will be due for another regulatory visitation by the end of September 2030.

Reacting to the development, the Rector described the approval as a testament to the dedication of staff, congratulating Heads of Departments and the Accreditation Team led by the Academic Planning Unit for sustaining the institution’s academic standards.

The development further strengthens NBPoly’s standing as a leading hub for technical and vocational education in Northern Nigeria.
