The Nigerian Defence Academy Screening Test for the 78th Regular Course has been announced.

LATEST UPDATE: NDA reschedules screening date for 78th Regular Course

This is to inform all candidates invited for the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 78 Regular Course Screening Test that, due to a clash with the JAMB mop-up examination, the NDA Screening Test earlier scheduled for Saturday, 13 June 2026 has been rescheduled to Saturday, 20 June 2026. This update follows the earlier NDA announcement fixing the test for 13 June 2026.

Candidates are advised to take note of the new date and make the necessary arrangements to be present at their designated centres on 20 June 2026. All other instructions previously communicated regarding the screening test remain valid unless otherwise stated.

Applicants who successfully submitted their applications, achieved a score above 180 in the JAMB UMTE and are yet to receive their invitation letters, should please attempt to log in to the application portal and select their preferred state for the screening test.

Furthermore, candidates who selected states with low turnout have been re-assigned to neighbouring states for the conduct of the screening test, as indicated in the table below. Affected candidates are advised to check their updated test locations carefully and comply accordingly.

The NDA Screening Test will be conducted as Phase One of the Post-UTME screening and is scheduled to hold on 20 June 2026. Therefore, all eligible candidates are to come with their Acknowledgement Form, Screening Test Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the screening test centre. The photographs should show the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and the candidate’s Signature at the back. Only successful candidates at the NDA Screening Test will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board (Phase 2 of the NDA Screening Test) following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

According to the NDA, eligible candidates will receive an email on 20 May 2026 directing them to select their preferred state for the screening test.

The names of candidates who scored the required NDA Cut off Marks of 180 for all courses less Engineering which is 210 will be uploaded to the portal as soon as NDA obtained same from JAMB.

Please note: Screening Cards and Center Selection will be available before the test date.

Next after the screening test is NDA List of Successful Candidates for Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB)

All candidates are to come with the following:

  • Acknowledgment card.
  • NDA Screening Test Admission Card,
  • Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration slip,
  • two Post card size (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs.
  • Each candidate is to write his/her JAMB registration number in full names, state of origin, chosen course, name of test centre and signature at the back of the photograph.
  • All candidates are to wear their face-masks and face shields as any candidate without this protective equipment will not be allowed to write the Test.
  • All candidates are to come to the Examination venue with HB pencils and eraser.
  • Candidates SHOULD NOT come to the Examination Hall with their mobile phones, smart wrist watches and calculator. Any Candidate that comes with these devices stands disqualified.

The NDA Entrance Exam Subjects Combinations are as follows:

  1. Candidates for FASS. Candidates for FASS are to answer all questions in any THREE of the following subjects that are applicable to the candidate’s chosen course:
    1) Mathematics – (Compulsory for Psychology candidates).
    (2) Economics.
    (3) Geography.
    (4) History.
    (5) Government.
    (6) French.
    (7) Biology – (Compulsory for Psychology candidates).
  2. Candidates for Sciences: Candidates for courses in Faculty of Science are to answer questions as follows:
    1. Mathematics (Mathematics and any 2 of Physics, Chemistry and Economics).
    2. Physics (Physics and any 2 of Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology).
    3. Chemistry (Chemistry and any 2 of Physics, Biology and Mathematics).
    4. Biology (Biology and any 2 of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics).
  3. Candidates for Engineering: Candidates for the Faculty of Engineering are to answer ALL questions in the 3 subjects listed below:
    (1) Mathematics.
    (2) Physics.
    (3) Chemistry.
  4. Candidates for Military Science and Interdisciplinary Studies: Candidates for Intelligence & Cyber Security Studies are to answer the following:
    1. Mathematics
    2. Physics and
    3. Anyone of Biology, Chemistry or Economics.

Please note that only those with duly printed Examination Card will be admitted into the various centres for the test.
