The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of six new full-time academic programmes in Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) to begin from the 2025/2026 academic session.

This development was announced by Management of the University.
The newly approved programmes are:
- 1. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)
- 2. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- 3. Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying (B.Sc.)
- 4. Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning (B.Sc.)
- 5. Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (B.Sc.)
- 6. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M)
The approval followed a successful resource verification exercise conducted by panels of experts from the NUC to assess the human and material resources available for the take-off of the programmes.
This milestone reflected the University’s sustained development and its commitment to broadening academic opportunities for students.
It is expected that the programmes would strengthen FULafia’s capacity to produce skilled professionals in fields such as law, health sciences, environmental studies and agriculture.
The Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has expressed his appreciation to the NUC for its support, commending the efforts of the Director of Academic Planning Directorate, Prof. Ilemona Adofu, staff and stakeholders whose contributions facilitated the approval.
He reaffirmed the University’s unwavering dedication to excellence in teaching, research and community service.
