Plateau State University, PLASU 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremony.

The Senate of Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos has approved January 30th and 31st, 2026, as the new dates for the 8th and 9th combined convocation ceremony. During a special session on October 24th, the Senate ratified the management’s decision to postpone the ceremony from its initial dates of November 28th and 29th, 2025, following a discussion at the 97th regular meeting on October 13th.

The pre-convocation lecture is scheduled for January 30th, 2026, with the convocation ceremony following on January 31st, 2026.

In the same session, the Senate discussed the implementation of the proposed academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session, which was adopted during the 97th regular meeting. According to the calendar:

First Semester officially starts on Monday, September 29, 2025, with online registration for new students commencing on the same day.
Monday, October 6, 2025, marks the start of online registration for returning students.
End of normal registration for all students is set for Monday, October 13, 2025, with classes beginning that same day.
By Monday, November 3, 2025, all admission processes for new students will conclude, followed by orientation for fresh students from Tuesday, November 4, to Thursday, November 6, 2025. Matriculation for fresh students will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, including a recent warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), classes are expected to commence fully on October 27, 2025, as approved by the Senate.

Senate Chairman and Vice Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best urged compliance by faculty members, reiterating his administration’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the university’s programs. Represented by Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Prof. Moses Galadima, Prof. Best also urged Senators to ensure that all pending results for students in levels 200-400 are completed and uploaded to the new digital management system within two weeks, in alignment with the National Universities Commission (NUC) requirements.

Professor Best highlighted that the timely completion and upload of results are critical for an upcoming accreditation visit from November 2, 2025, which will assess compliance with new NUC guidelines regarding the upload of student transcripts at the end of each semester.

PLASU notice on collection of gowns for the 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremony

Plateau State University, Bokkos, has announced arrangements for the collection of academic gowns ahead of its 8th and 9th Combined Convocation Ceremony.

In a memo issued on February 10, 2026, Registrar Yakubu F. Ayuba directed all graduands from the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 sessions, as well as Postgraduate School graduands, to report to their respective faculties for gown collection.

The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026.

According to the release, approved charges for gowns are ₦5,000 for postgraduate graduands and ₦2,000 for undergraduates. Payments are to be made via the Remita Platform in favour of Plateau State University, Bokkos, and must be verified by Faculty Finance Officers or the Postgraduate School Finance Officer before collection.

Graduands have been instructed to return all gowns on Monday, February 16, 2026. A late fee of ₦500 per day will be charged for any gowns returned after the deadline.

The Registrar urged all affected graduands to adhere strictly to the guidelines.
