The Governing Council of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Adamawa State, has appointed Prof. M.I. Ja’afaru as the Acting Vice-Chancellor.


This appointment follows the conclusion of the tenure of the former Vice-Chancellor in June 2024.
In a statement issued by Dr. Akin-Thomas Babajide, a member of the Governing Council, it was deemed necessary to appoint an Acting Vice-Chancellor to ensure the smooth continuation of the university’s administrative activities until a permanent Vice-Chancellor is appointed.
The statement added that the Council is responsible for selecting a qualified individual for this significant role when the time comes.
“Under the leadership and experience of H.E. Mamoud Shinkafi, the former Governor of Zamfara State, and other qualified members of the Council appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, the university is expected to experience a new era of progress and innovation,” the statement concluded.
