RSUST 35th Convocation Ceremony Schedule of Events 2023 [UPDATED]

RSUST Convocation 2023: Rivers State University (RSU) Convocation Ceremony Schedule of Events for 2023 has been released.

I am directed to inform the university community that the 35th convocation ceremony of the university is scheduled to hold on Friday 15th (Bachelor’s Degrees Convocation) and Saturday 16th (Conferment of Emeritus Professor and Higher Degrees Convocation) December 2023 by 9:30am at the convocation arena.

The details of the programme of events are as follows:

All staff are expected to participate to make the 35th convocation ceremony a success.

Sunday, 10th December 2023

• 10:00 AM: An Interdenominational Church Thanksgiving Service at the Chapel of Redemption, RSU, Port Harcourt.

Monday, 11th December 2023

• 9:00 AM: Press Briefing in the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room, Dr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike Senate Building.
• 10:00 AM: Collection of gowns, brochures, and scrolls at the designated Faculties/Departments.

Tuesday, 12th December 2023

• 10:00 AM: Continuation of gown collection and preparations for the convocation at Faculties/Departments.
• 10:00 AM: Exhibition at the RSU Amphitheatre, showcasing academic and cultural displays.
• 1:00 PM: Cultural Display also at the Amphitheatre, representing the diverse heritage of our community.

Wednesday, 13th December 2023

• 10:00 AM: Further collection of academic regalia at Faculties/Departments.
• 3:00 PM: A Novelty Football Match at the field opposite the Convocation Arena, a display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
• 5:00 PM: Graduands’ Night at the Convocation Arena, a celebration of the graduating class’s journey and achievements.

Thursday, 14th December 2023

• 12:00 Noon: The 35th Convocation Lecture, an intellectual feast, will be delivered by Mr. Donald Duke, former Governor of Cross Rivers State, in the Senate Chambers, RSU.
• 5:30 PM: A cocktail event at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge, an occasion for relaxation and networking.

Friday, 15th December 2023

• 9:30 AM: Award of Bachelor’s Degrees at the Convocation Arena, a momentous occasion for undergraduates.

Saturday, 16th December 2023

• 9:30 AM: Conferment of Emeritus Professors and Higher Degrees at the Convocation Arena, honouring distinguished careers and academic excellence.
