Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has appointed New acting rector.


The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Engr. (Dr.) Lawson Olorunwa Sunday as the Acting Rector of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, with effect from 25th April 2026.
The appointment follows the retirement of the incumbent Rector, Dr. Adegun Simeon Olurunwa, on 24th April 2026.
Engr. Lawson Olorunwa is a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and BioEnvironmental Engineering Technology of the Polytechnic.
He holds a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering Technology. He is also a Registered Engineer who has over 25 years of experience in the Nigerian polytechnic system.
He has held different administrative positions, including Deputy Rector, Director of Works as well as Head of Department. He is currently the Deputy Rector of the Polytechnic. Engr. Lawson hails from Ajagba in Irele Local Government area of Ondo State.
