Sule Lamido University has secured NUC full accreditation for 6 new academic programmes.


The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation status to six undergraduate programmes of Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK). This was in line with Section 10 (1) of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 which empowers the NUC to lay down Minimum Academic Standards for all academic programmes taught in Nigerian Universities and also to accredit such programmes.
The approval which was conveyed to the University vide a letter referenced NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/323 and dated 4th April, 2026, signed by the Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, entails that B. Agriculture, with specializations in Crop Science, Soil and Land Management, Animal Science and Agricultural Economics and Extension taught in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (FANRM) gained the five year full NUC accreditation status.
In the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT) B.Sc. Cyber Security, B.Sc. information Technology and B.Sc. Software Engineering also gained the NUC’s full accreditation status.
In the Faculty of Education, B.A. (Ed.) History was among the programmes visited in the accreditation exercise and eventually scored the full accreditation status.
Also, the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (FSMS) records securing the full accreditation status of B.Sc. Political Science.
While conveying approval of the Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, to the Vice-Chancellor, the Director of Academic Planning of the University, Dr. Abdullahi Haruna Birniwa, disclosed that currently all the 36 academic programmes in the University are now fully accredited which reflects the University’s collective commitment, resilience, and dedication to academic excellence.
Describing the success recorded, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, fcasson, mnae, revealed that the milestone was a clear indication that the University is working hard to achieve its mission and vision through ensuring quality education for academic excellence.
It could be recalled that the accreditation process was conducted by the NUC in the University between October and November 2025.
