A 45-year-old teacher, Musa Wada, was arrested in Jigawa State for beheading and mutilating his 14-year-old Almajiri student, Bashir Adamu, after the boy died while being punished for absenteeism.

A 45-year-old teacher, Musa Wada, has been apprehended in Jigawa State for the shocking murder of his 14-year-old Almajiri student, Bashir Adamu. The horrifying incident involved the beheading and dismemberment of the victim’s genital organs.
The Jigawa Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the arrest, which followed a tip-off that led detectives to the suspect.
According to SP Shiisu, during questioning, Wada admitted that the victim died while being punished for his repeated absences from school. In an attempt to mislead authorities, he claimed he beheaded the boy and mutilated his body to make it appear as though he had fallen victim to ritualistic violence.
On March 13, 2025, at approximately 3:30 PM, Musa Wada from Jikas-Dabaja village in Gwaram LGA was taken into custody for the horrific killing of his student, Bashir Adamu.
“Following intelligence received, detectives from the Gwaram Division were able to successfully apprehend the suspect,” SP Shiisu stated.
During interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse, Wada confessed that Bashir had not attended school and when questioned about his absenteeism, he did not provide a satisfactory explanation. As a result, Wada decided to impose a punishment, which tragically led to the boy losing consciousness and ultimately dying.
In a misguided effort to fabricate a story, Wada dismembered and buried the victim’s head and genitals in his farmland, hoping to suggest that a ritualist was responsible for the murder.
On March 12, 2025, at around 10:00 PM, authorities received information about a beheaded body, with missing genitalia, found by the roadside near Jikas-Dabaja village, Gwaram LGA. Upon investigation, the corpse was identified as that of Bashir Adamu, a student of Musa Wada.
Once the investigation is complete, the suspect will be brought before the court to face justice.
