The Mass Communication Students Association (MCSA) of the University of Lagos held the third annual ADWAVE competition, where Team Adfusion emerged victorious clinching the grand prize of N200,000.


The Mass Communication Students Association (MCSA) of the University of Lagos held the third annual ADWAVE competition, where Team Adfusion emerged victorious. The team, consisting of Abayomi Oyinkansola Tiffany, Adeyi Oluwadamisire Ebunoluwa, and Atakpa Iniobong Oreoluwa, was judged to have the best entry among 16 teams by a panel including Adebayo Orisirisi, Creative Lead at Publicis Africa, Nigeria, and Tola Arowa, Senior Manager of Human Resources at Insight Redefini.
The grand finale took place on Tuesday at the Biodun Shobanjo Multimedia Centre of Excellence, UNILAG, with Team Adfusion receiving a prize of N200,000.
Team Matrix, made up of Afolayan Ithiel Olushola, Adedeji Salman Abdusalam, and Nnam Chinaza Daniel, secured second place and won N150,000. Team Mavericks, consisting of Nkama Esther Chinyere, Ayodeji Adora Anjolaoluwa, and Olatunji Oluwademilade Esther, finished third, earning N100,000.
MCSA President Soremekun Samson praised the participants for their impressive entries and readiness for industry challenges, highlighting the competition’s role in showcasing talent and fostering healthy competition and collaboration.
Soremekun emphasized the importance of ADWAVE in providing students with a platform to demonstrate their skills and creativity, aligning with the competition’s founding vision of nurturing future industry leaders.
Sponsored by Insight Publicis, this year’s competition focused on developing a comprehensive marketing plan for a fictional fintech company, continuing its tradition of enhancing members’ skills in preparation for their professional careers.
