Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to professional postgraduate programmes of the Centre for Security Studies (CSS), University of Abuja, for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

Centre For Security Studies Postgraduate Programmes Goal
The Centre for Security Studies (CSS) is a leading Centre for the provision of high impact programmes of studies and research for implementable, sustainable and replicable solutions and ideas to address existing and emerging security issues within appropriate legal frameworks. The Centre is empowered to collaborate with national and international bodies and organisations concerned with security and legal issues for synergy.
Centre For Security Studies Postgraduate Entry Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to all the postgraduate programmes of the Centre for Security Studies must possess at least five (5) relevant O’ Level credit passes including English language and Mathematics. In addition, candidates must fulfill the following entry requirements:

- Criminology and Security Studies (Doctorate, Masters, Pg Dip)
- Crises and Humanitarian Management (Doctorate, Masters, Pg Dip)
- Cyber Security and Data Protectin (Doctorate, Masters, Pg Dip)
- Human Rights and Social Justice (Doctorate, Masters, Pg Dip)
- Strategic Security and Protection Managent (Doctorate, Masters, Pg Dip)
- Law enforcement and Regulations Management (Doctorate, Masters, Pg Dip)
- Legal Studies (MIS Executive)
- Security Management (Pg Dip)
- Security Studies (Pg Dip)
- Parliamentary Security Management (Pg Dipl.)
- Security Operations (With Specialisations) (Adv. Prof. Dipl.)
Doctorate Degree
Candidates must be holders of Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from any recognised university.
Master’s Degree
Candidates must be holders of a postgraduate diploma or a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related fields as may be determined by the Centre from a recognised institution with a grade not below a Second Class Lower (2.2). They must also have demonstrated desire and ability to excel in the programme.
Postgraduate Diploma
Candidates should hold a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related fields as may be determined by the Centre from a recognised institution with a grade not below a third class category, and demonstrated desire and ability to excel in the programme.
DURATION
The Doctorate degree shall run for a minimum of 3 academic years and maximum of 5 years. The Master’s degree shall run for minimum of 18 months and maximum of 36 months, while the Postgraduate Diploma programme shall run for a minimum of 12 calendar months and maximum of 18 calendar months.
