UNICAL Academic Calendar: The University of Calabar (UNICAL) Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 Academic Session is Out.

This is to inform all students of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) that the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session is out. The schedule of some important events for the session are as follows;

SEPTEMBER 2025

• Wednesday 24th: Inaugural Lecture
• Friday 26th: Arrival of new students
• Monday 29th: Screening and Registration begin for new students
• Tuesday 30th: Arrival of returning students

OCTOBER 2025

• Thursday 2nd: Registration begins for returning students
• Monday 6th: Lectures begin for all students
• Wednesday 8th: Solemn Assembly
• Wednesday 22nd: Inaugural Lecture
• Monday 27th – Friday 31st: Supplementary Examination

NOVEMBER 2025

• Monday 3rd – Friday 7th: Summer Examination
• Wednesday 5th: Inaugural Lecture
• Monday 10th: Late Registration begins for all students
• Thursday 13th – Friday 14th: Fresher’s Orientation
• Monday 17th: Late Registration ends for all students
• Wednesday 19th: Inaugural Lecture
• Friday 21st: Matriculation Ceremony
• Monday 24th – Friday 28th: Continuous Assessment

DECEMBER 2025

• Monday 1st: Add and Drop Courses end for all students
• Monday 8th – Friday 12th: Students’ Week
• Wednesday 17th: Inaugural Lecture
• Friday 19th: Christmas Break

JANUARY 2026

• Friday 9th: All Students return from Christmas Break
• Monday 19th – Friday 24th: Revision
• Wednesday 21st: Inaugural Lecture
• Monday 26th – Friday 31st: GSS Exams

FEBRUARY 2026

• Monday 2nd: Exams for other courses begin
• Thursday 26th: All Exams end
• Friday 27th: End of Semester

SUMMARY:

• Duration of Semester: 16 weeks
• Lectures: 12 weeks
• Examination: 4 weeks
• TOTAL: 16 weeks
