It has come to the attention of the Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) that students are receiving a message/email asking them to fill a form.
LATEST UPDATE : UNILAG Distance Learning Institute issues notice on imposters trying to defraud students
The University of Lagos Institute of Distance Learning has received reports of imposters reaching out to new students, falsely stating ties to the Distance Learning Institute and requesting payments.
The Director and staff do not request money. All fees are accessible on the students’ portal and making payments somewhere else carries personal risk.

It is a good recommendation from the University of Lagos, that you go through the attached document below, fill out the form as requested on the document.

Please endeavor to return the form within five(5) days upon receipt.

Kindly note that the University has not sent out any of such messages/emails. All students and stakeholders are advised to take precautions when interacting with emails and other online communications.
Things to note:
- The University of Lagos will only correspond with its students/staff/publics using its custom email address (i.e. [email protected])
- The Office of the Registrar of the University of Lagos is not a “Federal Secretariat”. We advise our students, staff and stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the organs of the University.
- Watch out for subtle or sometimes pronounced grammatical errors. This is common with fraudulent messages.
- Make sure you have confirmed the authenticity of the email address and noted other nuances mentioned above before clicking any such links.
