UNIMAID 44th Matriculation Ceremony Date 2026 Announced [UPDATED]

University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) 44th Matriculation Ceremony Schedule for 2025/2026 Academic Session has been announced.

This is to inform all staff, students and the general public that the 44th Matriculation Ceremony of the University of Maiduguri has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 10.00 am in the Convocation Square.

COLLECTION OF ACADEMIC GOWNS FOR THE 44TH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

This is to inform all fresh students that the 44th Matriculation Ceremony of the University has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 10:00 am in the Convocation Square of the University.

Matriculating students are to note that:

Matriculation is compulsory for all fresh students.
Collection of academic gowns for the ceremony will be through their respective College/Faculty Officers, effective from Thursday, March 5, 2026.
The gowns are provided at no cost whatsoever.

Students must return the gowns latest by Friday, March 13, 2026.

Students who lose or damage their gowns will be required to pay the full cost of the gown as may be determined by the Bursar.

TIME 7.00 am EVENT Matriculating Students coming in procession in the following order College of Medical Sciences Faculty of Dentistry – Faculty of Agriculture – Faculty of Allied Health Sciences – Faculty of Arts – Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences – Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Faculty of Clinical Sciences – Faculty of Education – Faculty of Engineering – Faculty of Environmental Studies – Faculty of Law – Faculty of Life Science – Faculty of Management Sciences – Faculty of Pharmacy – Faculty of Physical Science – Faculty of Social Sciences – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
8.30 am Arrival of Heads of Department
9.00 am Arrival of the Vice Chancellor, Principal Officers and Provost/Deans
9.45 am The Procession enters the Arena.
9.50 am 10.00 am National Anthem followed by University Anthem The Registrar introduces the occasion and invites the Vice Chancellor to declare the ceremony open.
10.05 am The Registrar invites the Vice Chancellor to deliver the matriculation address.
10.20 am The Registrar Invites Provost and Deans to present their students for Administration of the Matriculation Oath. The Provost /Dean gets up and requests the Matriculating students in the College/Faculty to rise and remain standing. Provost/Deans present Matriculating students to the Vice chancellor, saying: Mr. Vice Chancellor Sir, I present to you the matriculating students from College/Faculty of ……….
10.45 am Administration of Matriculation Oath by the Registrar The Registrar Reads the Oath and request matriculating students to repeat after him. of do solemnly swear and undertake to pursue learning and knowledge diligently. To respect the Laws and Regulations of the University of Maiduguri and to obey its constituted authority at all times. So help me God.
11.00 am The Registrar invites the Vice Chancellor to declare the Ceremony closed.
11.05 am The Vice Chancellor declare the ceremony closed.
11.15 am University Anthem followed by the National Anthem. The procession leaves the Convocation Square in reverse order. Matriculated Students to remain behind to sign the Matriculation Register with their respective College/Faculty Officers
