18-year-old African-American Boy Celebrates As He Gets Accepted into 40 Universities

An 18-year old, Jeremiah Bledsoe from Texas celebrates as he gets accepted into 40 universities across the US.

Jeremiah Bledsoe

18-year-old Jeremiah Bledsoe, an African-American from Fort Worth, Texas, has been accepted to 40 universities across the United States, a decade after dedicating himself to community service. He attributes his success to his commitment to helping others and the support of his community.

Jeremiah, a graduate of Nolan Catholic High School, received multiple awards for his service, including the Hershey Heartwarming Hero Award for his initiatives aiding the elderly. For the past ten years, he has regularly visited nursing homes, providing necessary items to elderly residents. His efforts have also earned him the Power of Youth Award and recognition from Youth Service America.

Jeremiah chose to focus on the elderly inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, which emphasizes health during the global pandemic, believing in the importance of not neglecting the older population.

As he prepares for college, Jeremiah plans to continue his service work and encourages other students to do the same, invoking Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words about the importance of serving others.

Looking ahead, Jeremiah is excited to further his education and continue his service through his social enterprise, J8 Creative, which provides multimedia and content creation solutions, with a portion of the proceeds supporting elderly residents in senior living facilities.
