Twenty-five researchers from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) have been awarded the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Institutional Based Research (IBR) grant totalling 93,615,066.

At a special presentation ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, handed over the Award Letters to the recipients, commending them for enhancing the University’s reputation through their outstanding research proposals. He noted that all 25 names submitted by FUNAAB were approved, reaffirming the University’s consistent track record of success in securing TETFund grants.
Prof. Kehinde encouraged the researchers to maintain their dedication, emphasising the importance of leveraging the grants to produce impactful research that would elevate both the University and their individual academic standing globally. He urged them to publish their findings and submit high-quality proposals to attract more research funding. Assuring them of prompt fund disbursement, he disclosed that the allocated funds were already available in the University’s account, eliminating any risk of delay.
Speaking at the event, the Director, Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Partnerships (DRIP), Prof. Mutiu Busari, congratulated the awardees and reiterated that TETFund channels research grants through institutions rather than individuals. He stressed that FUNAAB was responsible for reporting on fund utilisation and urged the researchers to ensure proper financial management, maintaining a clear inflow and outflow record.
He further stated that the University expects significant research output from the beneficiaries, reinforcing FUNAAB’s position as a leading research institution.
Highpoint was the presentation of the Award Letters to the researchers by the Vice-Chancellor, with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) in attendance.
